
Project: Skin Inc. Logo Design

Background: Skin Inc. magazine wanted to update their logo (as well as their magazine) for 2006.
The Skin Inc. editor and publisher wanted a logo to visually convey the magazine's tagline: "The Complete Guide for the Spa Professional." Skin Inc. wanted to shift to a more consumer-look in the magazine versus the business-to-business idea. The editor also mentioned they would be including articles on "fitness and health" in 2006, so she wanted that theme to play an integral part in the logo's appearence.

The chosen logo is below. The editor was partial to the "mark" in the center of the logo. She felt that it not only differentiated the logo from other "straight-type" logos, but it also helped to convey "total-body wellness" and give the viewer a feeling of Skin Inc.'s subject matter when appearing on its own (apart from the cover). The mark itself, is a very subtle representation of "S" and "I."
